Ooty hidden places
1. Emerald Lake
It is approximately 1.5 kilometers from the dam site to the power producing station. There are no rules for accessing this lake. There were no decent roads a few years ago, and entry was controlled by a police checkpoint. There is now a good road, and it is being enlarged in a few locations.
Emerald Lake's azure waters are stunning, surrounded by beautiful green meadows and woodland. The water is clean and, of course, frigid. This is a wonderful site to spend the day, with beautiful views of the Nilgiris hills. Emerald Lake is also a refuge for many different species. It is a bird lover's and ornithologist's dream since they can watch and study a variety of native species. It is especially known for the magnificent views of the sun rising and setting near the lake. The Tea Gardens is a wonderful place to spend time since it provides a remarkable experience. Trekking is another activity available to guests.
This location is undisturbed by frequent tourists, unlike the town's frantic hordes. There are no services nearby, with the exception of The Red Hill Nature Resort, which is located a little further from the lake's coast. Mountain biking, bird viewing, fishing, and trekking in the nearby areas are among the tourist amenities provided by the resort.
The journey to Emerald Lake (from Ooty) provides wonderful views.

2. Avalanche Lake
The observation point, as the name implies, offers a panoramic view over the Ketti Valley, the biggest valley in the Nilgiris, and its picturesque environs. Several tribes, including the Todas and Badagas, live in Ketti Valley. This valley has about 14 settlements belonging to Badagas tribes. In the valley, these indigenous people are excellent at growing fresh veggies and fruits.
The Ketti Valley, often known as the Switzerland of the Nilgiris, is a haven for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The view of Ketti from the viewpoint is breathtaking, and it is sometimes likened to views of Switzerland. Nature enthusiasts, adventurers, thrill seekers, and even casual travelers will enjoy the vista from this vantage point. There is also a telescope room where you may have a better look at the valley and its surrounds. Pony Needles, a well-known brand in the needle-making sector, is also located in this valley. Apart from enjoying the nice ambience of Ketti Valley, there isn't much to see in the valley.
Ketti town is served by the Nilgiri Express and is located between the stations of Coonoor and Ooty. Local transit modalities such as taxis and vehicles are accessible from there.
Summer is the best time to enjoy a pleasing view of the valley.

4. Hidden Valley
The Hidden Valley in Coonoor, a perfect location for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers, provides a lovely experience for all those in quest of tranquillity. With its beautiful surroundings, the area has become a popular romantic destination for honeymooners as well as a picnic spot for families.
Tourists of all ages go to this location at least once in a lifetime to observe nature at its best, an experience that cannot be replicated anywhere. It is unquestionably a must-see stop on the Ooty itinerary.

6. Tiger Hill Cemetery
The perspective, which is around 200 meters from the cemetery gate, is the main attraction, in my opinion. Unless you're one of those morbid folks that likes to visit graveyards. The cemetery, which goes back to the colonial period, has an ominous atmosphere.
The viewpoint provides a view of Mettupalayam below. When I arrived, clouds were moving over the hill, gently covering everything in white. The hills parallel to Tiger Hill, I believe, are in Huligal and Burliar., so Pakkasuran Peak and Droog Fort must be somewhere there.
7. Mukurthi National Park
Tamil Nadu, a culturally rich South Indian state, attracts tourists from all over the world for a variety of reasons. Tamil Nadu is an absolute vacationers' dream, whether it's the extravagance of architectural brilliance in the shape of majestic temples, the peace of the gorgeous beaches, or the enchanting beauty of the hill stations.
With an amazing variety of lush flora and bewitching fauna, this state is very popular among wildlife aficionados, and the Mukurthi National Park is a live reflection of this reality. Mukurthi National Park, formerly known as the Nilgiri Tahr National Park, is located in the western part of the Nilgiris Plateau. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was created with the primary goal of protecting its keystone species.
